And perhaps this is also the intention of Rashi in the second simple explanation there: "It depends on Me and not on you," meaning, Moshe Rabbeinu wanted to act through prayer, and Hashem told him that now complete trust is required from you, to rely and depend on Me completely, and then there is no time of trouble at all, as the well-known segula from Reb Chaim of Volozhin (Nefesh HaChayim, Gate 3, Chapter 12), that one who believes with perfect faith that there is none besides Him, no power in the world can have control over him. That is, prayer is required when there is a difficult situation, in order to sweeten and nullify it, however, the power of the attribute of trust can change the situation fundamentally, so that there is no difficult situation at all. And consequently, the sea will not be able to stand before them and will be forced to split.
